ME RESULTS: August 2021 Mechanical Engineering Board Exam Passers

MANILA, Philippines (Updated August 24) – The August 2021 Mechanical Engineer and Certified Plant Mechanic (ME-CPM) board licensure exams results including the complete list of passers, top 10 examinees and overall performance of schools are released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Board of Mechanical Engineering in six (6) working days after the last day of exams.

As announced, 247 out of 621 passed the Mechanical Engineer Licensure Examination and 18 out of 29 passed the Certified Plant Mechanic Licensure Examination.

The August 2021 Mechanical Engineering licensure exams are originally scheduled on February 2021 but later re-scheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic resulting to several travel restrictions.

The Mechanical Engineering board exams were conducted on August 15-16, 2021 at PRC testing centers located at the Baguio, Cotabato, Lucena, Pangasinan, Tacloban and Zamboanga. Meanwhile, the conduct of MELE in the National Capital Region/ Metro Manila, Cebu and Cagayan de Oro is cancelled.

The Mechanical Engineering exams were administered by the Board of Mechanical Engineering headed by its Chairman, Engr. Leandro A. Conti and its members, Engr. Jerico T. Borja and Engr. Lorenzo P. Larion.

Release of Results

Referring to the results of the previous mechanical engineering licensure exams, taking into consideration the restrictions brought by the COVID-19 pandemic and the estimated target release date stated in the PRC Resolution No. 1283 series of 2020, the Mechanical Engineering board exam results are estimated to be released in 3-5 working days or longer, after the last day of board exams.

PRC may also release the mechanical engineering board results for August 2021 earlier or later than the estimated date without prior notice.

Schedule of Registration

The schedule of online appointment for issuance of Professional ID and Certificate of Registration for the new Mechanical Engineers will be from September 27 to September 30, 2021.

Initial registrants are advised to register online via PRC official website via https://online.prc.gov.ph/ and follow the steps in online registration. Here are the registration requirements:

PRC added that successful examinees shall personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

Verification of Rating

The verification of ratings and test results for the mechanical engineer licensure exams given by PRC Board of Mechanical Engineering will be available online few working days after the posting of results.

Successful takers can refer to PRC official website and use the Verification Page to know their board examination passing rate.

As posted, a passer shall only provide the exam name, the date of examination, the application number, first name and last name and the birth-date.

Oath-Taking Ceremonies

Due to the pandemic, the oathtaking ceremony for the newly licensed Mechanical Engineers will be done online, now referred as the “e-oath”. The application system for the e-oath can be accessed online via PRC dedicated portal via https://online.prc.gov.ph/ and select “e-OATH” as transaction.

Inductees are required to print “OATH OF PROFESSIONAL” form that is downloadable at the PRC Online Services.

Mechanical Engineering Board Exams Summary (Stats)

Mechanical Engineering board exam is one of the programs with average number of examinees conducted by PRC.

The previous ME was held on February 2020 while the scheduled licensure exam in the first quarter of 2021 was postponed due to the pandemic. During these exams, 1,334 out of 3,469 (38.45%) examinees passed.

Glemar Ojendras Guarin from University of Southeastern Philippines Davao City and Juluis Ezra Macasaet Gundran from De La Salle University – Manila shared the top spot having 91.30% rating followed by Edrian Pamintuan Laki from Holy Angel University having 90.05%.

Batangas State University – Alangilan Campus was the lone university in the top performing schools’ list (with 50 or more examinees passed) having 92.55% overall passing rate.
